Researchers in Serbia studied the effects of hydrogen-rich water on sperm quality in a small group of healthy young men. They found that drinking hydrogen-rich water daily for 8 weeks increased the number of live sperm cells. Although the total sperm count didn't significantly increase overall, two out of the three men with low sperm counts saw their sperm count improve to normal levels. This suggests hydrogen-rich water might be beneficial for men with fertility issues.
The researchers believe that hydrogen's antioxidant properties could be responsible for these improvements. Hydrogen can neutralize harmful substances in the body called free radicals, potentially creating a more favorable environment for sperm production. More research with larger groups of men is needed to confirm these findings and understand exactly how hydrogen-rich water affects sperm quality, but the results of this study are promising.

Hydrogen - Genes, Weightloss & Metabolism:
Molecular hydrogen stimulates the gene expression of transcriptional coactivator PGC-1α to enhance fatty acid metabolism | npj Aging
Researchers in Japan studied the effects of hydrogen-rich water on mice and liver cells in a laboratory. They found that hydrogen can influence how certain genes work, which in turn affects how the body processes fats and energy. Hydrogen-rich water seemed to improve fat metabolism and lower triglyceride levels in mice fed a high-fat diet. This suggests that hydrogen might have potential health benefits, especially for metabolic health issues like obesity and diabetes.
While more research is needed to understand exactly how hydrogen affects the body and whether it could be a useful treatment for people, this study hints at promising possibilities. It shows that hydrogen might play a role in keeping our bodies healthy and managing certain health conditions related to metabolism.
